An independent readiness review for a self-built production platform

The engagement

A production studio had built its own multi-tenant platform with an internal engineering team. The product was capable and already spanned much of the brief-to-billing workflow. Before onboarding a wave of larger clients onto it, leadership wanted an independent, outside read on whether the platform was ready for production at that scale, the kind of assurance enterprise buyers increasingly ask for before they trust a vendor’s system with their work.

What CVA did

We ran a structured, independent technical review through our engineering partner, deliberately separate from the team that built the platform so the assessment carried outside credibility. Over a focused review window, the platform was examined against production-scale criteria: the brief-to-delivery journey, code structure and reuse, the data model and its flow, sign-in and tenant separation, security posture, file handling and external services, deployment readiness, performance and scalability, the integration surface, notifications, and the billing and invoicing flow.

The output was not a list of complaints. It was a written assessment organized around what was already strong, the areas worth strengthening before scale, a short set of watch items, and a clear path forward, delivered with a walk-through for the leadership team.

What changed

The studio came away with an independent, evidence-based picture of its own platform: confirmation of the foundations that were solid, and a prioritized, practical roadmap for the few areas to harden before enterprise clients came aboard. Instead of guessing whether the build was ready, leadership had an outside review to point to when those clients asked the production-readiness question, and the team had a clear sequence of work to close the gap with confidence.
