Why I launched Coastalview Advisory

If you spend long enough inside industries being reshaped by technology, particularly those that produce content for a living, you notice familiar patterns. Denial. Delay. Then a scramble to survive.

I have lived that cycle across eras. Newspapers when pricing, audiences, and advertising models had to adapt to a digital world. Madras Global, where we built and scaled a global content production business designed around interchangeable files and broadband-enabled workflows that unlocked speed, economics, and a distributed talent model. And now, generative AI, where the definition of content itself is changing again.

Waiting feels prudent. It often hands competitors the time to learn faster, experiment sooner, and build momentum that is difficult to reclaim. Coastalview Advisory exists to help organizations stop waiting and start moving, by building game plans that balance ambition and smart risks.

Generative AI is the start of a new content economy

Generative AI is reshaping how content is created, produced, delivered, and consumed. Costs are falling. Output is accelerating. The economics of content, how it is made, how it earns money, how it holds attention, are shifting faster than organizations are responding.

The questions that matter today are not technical. What are we actually selling: volume, speed, outcomes, IP, influence, results? What does value mean when marginal cost approaches zero? How should pricing, cost structures, and operating models evolve for a future arriving daily?

There is no perfect answer to any of these. What matters is making better decisions faster, asking the right questions early, and moving instead of waiting.

Tools do not win. Decisions do.

CVA is not selling software. There is no platform that suddenly solves everything. Results come from combining the right technology, people, workflows, economics, market context, costs, and pricing. A formula unique to every organization. CVA helps leaders unlock the formula that is right for them.

You cannot PowerPoint your way to change

CVA works across the layers where transformation actually happens. At the board level, where investment and leadership direction get set. With executive teams, where priorities and definitions of success get agreed. And inside implementation teams, where decisions either show up in results or do not.

Why this moment is worth the work

Generative AI is messy. It will disrupt incumbents and workflows. But the upside is extraordinary for the organizations that lean in early and move fast. That is the work CVA was built for, and the work we are ready to do.
